ECOLOGIST AND PROTECTED SPECIES CONSULTANT

I regularly undertake ecology survey work in connection with barn conversions, planning applications and other developments. I hold a Natural England licences and work in accordance with Natural England and the Bat Conservation Trust.

I undertake professional bat surveys in accordance with with Collins (2016) Bat Surveys for Professional Ecologists: Good Practice Guidelines, 3rd Edition, Bat Conservation Trust, which is the standard bat survey guidance that should be referenced by all professional ecologists, and is also often referenced by developers, planners and the policy-makers responsible for reviewing and assessing the implications of professional bat surveys.

I am a totally Independent Ecologist and Protected Species Consultant working in Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Rutland, Leicestershire, Cambridgeshire, Derbyshire and Norfolk. Working near Gedney End Drove with quick visit producing 650 Brent Geese, 230 Common Shelduck and 60 Eurasian Wigeon as well as counts of 800 Oystercatcher, 2000 Knot, 330 Golden Plover, 70 Grey Plover and 60 Bar-tailed Godwits, 2 merlin 2 marsh harriers and an amazing barn owl…

One of three Roe Deer feeding by the River Witham in Belton Park, Lincolnshire yesterday (22.02.2021). This is a male with his antlers still in velvet.

I undertook a winter bird survey this morning on farmland at Stubton @beeswaxfarming . A good number of winter thrushes were still present with c200 fieldfare and c40 redwing along with blackbird and mistle thrush recorded. Over winter stubble held a flock of c60 Stock Dove cont.
