The Isle of Lewis is located in the Outer Hebrides, an island chain off the west coast of mainland Scotland. It is the northernmost and largest island in the group. The island is known for its rugged landscapes, including dramatic cliffs, sandy beaches, and moorlands. Its largest town is Stornoway, which serves as a cultural and commercial hub for the area. Lewis is also famous for historical sites such as the Callanish Standing Stones. The island is part of the council area known as the Western Isles or Comhairle nan Eilean Siar in Gaelic.
