Dark-bellied brent goose

The Dark-bellied Brent Goose (Branta bernicla bernicla) primarily breeds in the Arctic regions of Siberia, particularly along the coastal tundra of western and central Siberia. During winter, these geese migrate to Western Europe, including the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, and some areas along the western coast of Europe.

Unlike other Brent Goose subspecies, the Dark-bellied variety is adapted to harsher climates, making long migrations each year to find suitable feeding grounds, often in coastal areas rich in eelgrass and other salt-tolerant vegetation.
