Starlings

Starlings

The common starling (Sturnus vulgaris) has striking iridescent plumage that appears black at a distance but shimmers with purple, green, and blue hues in the light. In summer, their feathers are sleek and glossy, while in winter, they develop pale speckles across their body. Their pointed yellow bill in the breeding season contrasts with the darker, blackish bill of non-breeding birds.
